With much delay...

Well.. I really have no excuse. It is quite pathetic that my last post was just after we got back to the island from Christmas break. Good grief, since then: This fellow below asked me to marry him, we completed a gruelling and tiring semester of University, we purchased our version of a baby (the scooter you may also see!), and I am working my dream job at Smoking Lily. (Go to www.smokinglily.com, but not if you don't want a new online addiction...) Also: Rejection letters, rejection interviews, but a wedding in TEN DAYS, a new life, and heaps of fun... life is quite exciting these days.
So, here are some pictures of Life In Full.

This made me grin. Placed in a pile on a rock by the sea were these things . Maybe someone gathered these treasures and forgot them. Or maybe they decided they weren't treasures afterall. Maybe they couldn't fit them all in their pockets. Maybe they didn't want to steal from nature. Maybe... this pile was naturally placed here by a wave but I think of elaborate stories about how the pile came to be anyways.

EEE starfish! I heart starfish. A LOT. Thanks to Ronan who purchased a beach combing book at Munro's, I could immediately look up what kind of starfish it in fact is. ( A blood red star)

Flying Skimboard! Another baby...

Roberta's Hats. OOO pretty pretty hats.

Lily at night. Check out our new lamp!

Sam and Landon had everyone over at their place for a BBQ for us, it was fun! mmm cake.

Islay (and other recent views)

It was about time I met this little creature and maybe I'm just a wee bit biased but she is the best and cutest baby ever. She survived the holidays with dozens of people ooing and awwing over her and smiled to boot! She is going to be an amazing young lady. Molly and Darren I love seeing you as parents. Congratulations! Heaps of Love

Have you ever lived close to something beautiful but have never made the time to look? Beacon Hill Park is next to downtown and for being in the middle of the city it is gorgeous! We took a stroll today to the water and the park to see what it's made of. Someone someday put their tiny foot into this cement. I hope they remember so they can go back and remember what being a kid was like.

Lisa's 30th birthday

well SOMEONE has to love to snowblow

All over the city I find these. Not necessarily always saying "imagine love", but the same font. There is no better kind of graffiti. (It must be someone that goes to UVic. Their sayings are all over campus. Now we've narrowed the perpetrator to one of 20 000 people.)

Tofino trip with Quinn and Dad

Apparently Tofino can be a sleepy little town. Make a visit in December and you'll see what I mean. Dad hopped on the airplane and came to visit last week. He rented a car ( a little bit more reliable than June or VanWinkle!) and my two boys and I drove to Tofino. The trip included frozen fingers and toes but starfish and sand dollars and walks along the beach. ( Can't forget the hot tub at our hotel as well!)

Islay

She's here! I'm a bit delayed, I know... she has actually been here since October 30. Molly and Darren, I can't wait to meet her and get her real face rather than this goon.

When Company Arrives

On Saltspring Island we discovered that Edwin can hold his water and June is one rugged tough car.

Over the last few weeks we have had visitors!

Debbie came out for a few days and stayed at the Magnolia (ooooooo) which is right downtown. We hit the stores and one day made it out to Sooke. She made it through the big storm (go figure. The only one we've had) and I made full use of the jet tub in the hotel room! Ronan was next, he flew for a visit and I think is now pondering a move. On that Saturday no one had to work and no one had school... so we went to Saltspring Island. Poured rain (POURED) the entire time, but wow. What a gorgeous place. When I get big maybe I'll be making a move too. Anyways, here are some visions of the visits.

October in Victoria

An Eighteen degree day on October 13 and Edwin finally made it outside. We drove to a pumpkin patch near the airport, a field just full of them. And so we now have a giant pumpkin plumped full of seeds and waiting to be carved! Drove back into town and made it just in time for the last Moss Street Market. Realizing the importance of down time. All work = no life. I want a little bit of life. Hence the Saturday morning outside adventuring!
