Mrs. Molly

I am ecstatic about this baby on the way. Thanks Molly for being patient with me today while I took some pictures of your beautiful pregnant self! 3 more months...

morning play

I'm taking care of kids at a daycare for the summer and am surprisingly learning a ton. The kind of parent I want to be one day... How blunt children are... How unafraid they are of their differences. And what wonderful hugs and big squeezes they give! We had a slow morning and went for a walk, I brought my camera and took pictures of them while they played. I can't put their faces on here. With the way the internet is these days I may have some raging parents on my back! Even without faces I see personality in these pictures and even their attitudes make me laugh.

Dannika

Two years ago I moved to Victoria and eventually moved in with Marika and Stephanie. Thinking back, I don't know how we did it. Not just any three girls can cram themselves into a one bedroom apartment as living space and survive. But I love these girls like crazy. We were all unmarried and childless... how times have changed! Dannika is Stephanie and her husband Kevin's PERFECT daughter and all of us girls from Stephanie's island days (and many others! :) ) were very excited to hear of her arrival. Quinn and I drove to Lethbridge today to meet this little creature... Dannika Raine.

I am so in love with the mountains. I have never been to Saskatchewan for more than a "drive past the sign and stick my foot onto the pavement." This drive on the way home from Calgary has made me want to drive deeper into the prairies.

Summer occurences

Roktober
Summer Lovin'

An attempt at capturing colour... these bikes are much brighter! But.. facebook is great. I joined a group for my camera, and a random stranger informed me how to improve the colour in my pictures.

We went to Calgary this weekend for my first Stampede experience. The parade was amazing. Canadian troops were there, and I have never thought of Canadians as patriotic but when the troops marched by, there was nothing but the sound of clapping.

some first pics with Edwin, June 2007

Mum and daughter. This baby is absolutely beautiful.
Even the grass is nice. Island Lake.

For the blue moon in June Quinn and his longboard, me and my camera went out to take pictures in the dark. Most of them didn't turn out. Something to work on...

This reminds me of hot summer weeks when I was young at Blue Lake Camp.

Quinn playing his guitar that he brought back from England. For some reason I love that he has experienced England and I haven't. It has always somewhere that I have wanted to include in travels, but I love hearing his stories and adventures he had there and have just made visions and maps in my head instead.

This is Grace. Her family is from Connecticut and every year over the Christmas holidays they take a trip to Fernie. It is exciting to see the girls every year... Grace is now four! The first time they came she was a mere
6 months... the kid who wanted to ski at 18 months.

I remember driving by this barn when I was wee... and it was HUGE.Things have shrunk. My family used to camp at Rock Lake and a couple of weeks ago Quinn and I took a drive there. The roads used to seem like highways, streams like oceans and outhouses like neverending pits. I think I'm realizing that I have grown up.
